Closed for Refurbishment
We will be closed from Monday, 29th September to Friday 31st October 2008 for some vital refurbishment work.
We reopen on Saturday 1st November.
We apologise for any inconvenience and Liz is looking forward to welcoming all of her regulars back on the 1st November.
This will be great weekend so book a table and try our new menu.
(its ok, I'm not removing steak & ale, liver & bacon and other similar favourites).
Our head chef “Ting Sayer” has been here at the White Hart for 12 years and has put together some new dishes for you.
Come and celebrate our reopening. There will also be fantastic real ales and new wines for you to try.

The White Hart is about 250 years old, and is known locally as Tigers Island. The 'Island' derived from the fact that when the river Wid flooded and the water rose it never quite reached as high as the pub. The 'Tigers' were the railway builders last century who got dressed up to visit the pub each weekend, and sometimes resolved their disputes in the pub precincts!
